GP是Games Played的縮寫，意思是“打了幾場”；W、D、L分別是 wins、draws、losses，即勝、和、負；GS 代表“進球”（goals scored），GA 代表“失球”（goals against），GD 代表“淨勝球”（goals difference，得分減失分）；P 就是“積分”（points）。
例句:
1. Korea Republic, collecting four points with a 1-0-1 record, currently stands second.南韓隊的戰績為1勝1負，積4分，暫列第二。
1-0-1這個表示戰果的方法是老美常用的，三個數位代表的順序是：勝-平-負。0-1-1就是“0勝1平1負”，這裡連字號要讀成and，不要和幾比幾的to弄混。那麼積分可以用“collect +基數詞+ point(s)”表示，而“排名第幾”就可以用“stand/rank + 序數詞”的形式來表示，比如上面例句中的collect one point和stand third。
2. Argentina ranks first on six points with five goals scored and one lost.阿根廷隊進5球失1球積6分，排名第一。
