Mary:Linda looks so pretty.
琳達看起來真是漂亮。

張:She really does. She often comes to chat with us.
她是很美。她經常會跑來跟我聊天。

Mary:She talks a lot. She can dish, too.
她話太多。
『一聽到dish這個字張小姐以為她是說琳達很會做菜。』

張:What do you mean?
你是指什麼? 

Mary:She can say nasty things about people.
她會在背後說別人長短。

註:
Dish可以當動詞,把菜裝盤的意思但是也可以當挖苦批判。
She can dish it out, but she cannot take it.
表示她可以不在乎地批評別人卻無法忍受他人對她的批評。
She likes to dish out advice.
她喜歡沒完沒了提忠告。
